There was an article recently in one of the local papers (I would credit them but i am not sure which one) stating that the Council was pushing the government to confirm that we were in the future going to have 2 train stations in sunbury. Question 1. Where is the second station to go? Question 2. Is it really neccessary for Sunbury to have 2 Train stations Question 3. Is this Just for the train electrification? Or is it either way? * _

Spend the money and widen the corridor, thats the only way to relieve the congestion. There going to have todo it in soon anyway, why not start it now.

Since Sunbury seems to be expanding northward a lot more recently, maybe the electrified train should extend to Rupertswood. I mean, it would be handy for the school and it might be closer for people who live in Rolling Meadows and have only the one bus to rely on. Rupertswood is barely a stone throw from Sunbury Station anyway.

is moving it that far away from the centre of sunbury a good idea?
If we work on the theory of population, it would make more sense for it to go straight in the centre of sunbury again - or further up gap road (although not viable of course.) does goonawarra have a population (or course combining rolling meadows) to merit a station? I know we live in a world of convenience for convenience's sake, But is this really necessary?
However i do think this article is more abuot Hume Council's Bid to ensure funds are available for a new station sometime in the future..

It may just be a way to justify the expense of electrification. Electrify the line to Sunbury...and as an added bonus, you can have a new station.
Anyway, it all seemed to me to be an "idea for the future". Councils and governments will have changed by the time they seriously consider it.

alot to think about, Glad I dont work for Council herd alot of differnet ideas thrown about I Dont use public transport much these days, however I havent herd theres still alot of Problems with the Electrified Lines, hence a new station with trains that dont work would be pointless. I dont see a problem with Expansion of Existing Station and or at the end of Vineyard RD and or a Goonawarra station.

All the information about the electrification of the Sunbury line can be found at http://www.transport.vic.gov.au/web23/Home.nsf/AllDocs/34ADB4D7B1669045CA257625001C6766?OpenDocumentthe thing I find most interesting is that one of the benefits will be increased parking...It says 100 more carparks near Sunbury Station, which from I understand from the photos on the web site are just designating car parks which are currently for the shopping public and changing them to be designated to train travelers only! AND 500 MORE CAR PARKS AT DIGGERS REST! I have nothing against Diggers Rest, although, at it busiest times, the Diggers car park would not have more than 30 cars in the car park. Do the people planning these 'improvements' think that people who live in Sunbury will just simply drive to Diggers everyday to get a park??? That is a bit of a far pitch for me... III

There are a few things i cannot stand the thought of if our trains do get electrified. And I am not even going to talk about the luck we currently have being able to skip picking up passengers that are dropped in to other suburbs. Or the fact that on the timetable that they released over six months ago (which now does not seem to be available anywhere) showed that with the new services are going to take at least 3 minutes extra on each service & Most times up to 15 minutes due to the fact that they will be stopping at a lot more stations. My biggest concern is this: *We will now have to rely on METRO to run our train system. Being a person that travels into the city every day & uses their city loop service, i can hear how many delays constantly come up, Hear friends stories about delays, poor service etc. I would much prefer to be with VLINE who do have these problems sometimes, but not every day. Plus, there will be not toilets.
